Sim Drift Academy is a driver development initiative created through a partnership between Qatar Racing Club, Forma Sports, SimZone and Simway.

Together, we bring local motorsport infrastructure, simulator expertise, professional drift coaching, community development and international training opportunities into one structured pathway.
Our goal is to help drivers enter at the right level, develop with professional guidance and progress from simulator training toward competition, real-track experience and international drift training.
Sim to real
Why the sim works
Modern sim platforms — from Gran Turismo to Assetto Corsa — model tyre physics, weight transfer, and oversteer with enough fidelity that muscle memory genuinely adapts. These are the six skills that transfer directly from the rig to real asphalt:
Car control
Managing oversteer at the limit — the core of drifting — transfers directly. The inputs required are identical between sim and real.
Setup knowledge
Sim drivers learn suspension, differential and tyre settings deeply, gaining a serious technical edge over track-only rivals.
Track memory
Virtual lap repetitions build precise mental maps. Drivers arrive at real tracks already knowing every apex and braking zone.
Throttle precision
Holding a drift requires millimetre-level throttle control. Thousands of sim hours train this reflex relentlessly and cheaply.
Transitions
Linking drift zones and reversals demands timing and rhythm — far cheaper to ingrain in the sim than in costly real-world track days.
Composure
Competing in sim leagues under pressure builds the mental toughness that carries directly into real race environments.
